Help - Passports renewal application stuck at Durham Passport Office and we are traveling this Friday

hi all,

I am desperate!!!

Passports sent via PO Check and Send on the 2nd July.
Called the IPS 0300 number over 60 times today - got through a dozen times.
Cant escalate - can't get transferred to Durham.
Cant talk to anyone.

I am crying and feeling sick as it will ruined the holidays for my twin girls, my son, my husband and my mum.

Can someone help or know someone from the Durham office help us!? We prepare to drive up from Bristol tomorrow to pick them up if need be :(

It was 25 pound each way for each passenger. In our case 250 pound.
yes keep trying. you may have to pay more than the admin but at least you dont loose your money all together.

Just rang and they said no you cannot move it atall if its less than 8 weeks :/. :(

Thats so annoying. I was due to fly Aug 13. I rang last wednesday and told them I had passport issues. The first caller no help. The second, changed it on the spot.
Have you told them the problems your having?

I dont understand, how could they do it for one person but not another? Surely thats not right x

hi, i have been told that my 2 daughters passports are in durham, im flying on monday so i need the passports back asap! has anybody got the direct number for durham?! would be much appreciatedd

Think there might be light at the end of the tunnel for me. Thank you heaps to Babuska, Leanne 270, kirstyboo and Autumnrosebrown for all your help. The peterborough staff and 0300 staff were useless yesterday saying I had no chance of an upgrade as was 1st passport. MP came up trumps, an aide phoned today and arranged passports to be pulled and upgraded. They are sending them out via courier. I won't relax till they are in my hands but feel a lot better.

Well I was told by peterborough on tuesday that they are writing to the countersignatory (smh). Its sent 2nd class post so hopefully he will receive it tomorrow or friday. Im going to send it special delivery as the exaiminer said as soon as she receives it I can upgrade. Here is hoping. Due to fly out next thursday.

if it's any help to anybody, DS had his fast track appt (to replace stolen passport) at Liverpool at 5.30pm last Thursday, & his passport came yesterday afternoon (not sure how it was sent, it came after the normal post & was just put through the letterbox, didn't have to sign or anything)

They emailed my boyfriend back this afternoon as he sent them an email a few days back! They said they are still aiming to have it done by the turnaround time which is 2 weeks and it will be 2 weeks this friday so hopefully he can get an interview asap and we can travel anywhere for it then he gets his passport. Still a shaken mess though!

Well that's a good sign at least they are doing something! It sounds a lot more hopeful now! I'm sure once he has his interview things willing even quicker!

I hope so! Not getting my hopes up though :( x

passport update:

got old passports back 2nd class post today!
rang passport office and mine and hubbys passport was printed last nite and with the courier now so shud recieve them tomoro or friday! will keep u all updated. good luck to danielle665,babushka1, and bakerbelle and any body else waiting!!!!
