Driving through the night from Eurotunnel - which route to take?

We are taking the 12:30am Eurotunnel from folkestone and then driving down past Limoges through the night and next day. Last time we went through Paris on the way (nightmarish) and via Le Mans on the way back, (we did both of those journeys in daytime). But it has just occurred to me that the Le Mans way was more roundabouts and less smooth driving as you get closer to Calais. So I'm looking for the best route that will encourage our 3DCs back to sleep if they have woken up on the Eurotunnel, or general advice for what my DM thinks is madness!

We did this last year - well actually we were on an earlier eurotunnel. By mistake we ended up in outskirts of Paris at about midnight - so traffic was OK, but it was slow and there were roadworks etc.

Can't remember exact route, we are doing it again this year, will drive through the night, taking turns to drive. can't wait
