We're going to be in Dublin with a six year old in August, and we need somewhere fairly central to hang out with a friend and her similar aged child. Not just cafe - need a few hours trip where the kids can play together - does anyone have suggestions? Thanks a lot!

Phoenix park or Dublin Zoo are just on outskirts with plenty to do.
In the centre Stephens Green is a nice park if weather is kind!

Would second Dublin Zoo, if the weather is great you can very easily pass a whole day there. We always take a pcinic.

Haven't been but Dublinia is in the centre of Dublin here

Viking Splash Tours here

Or if the weather is great Stephen's Green, as mentioned above is good or even taking the Dart to Bray for a stroll around?

The National Museum of Ireland in Kildare Street is very central, and has loads of child friendly displays. Next door is the National Library, which often has state of the art computer exhibitions about Irish writers, which are sure to capture any six year old.

If you do not fancy the Museum cafe, you could try the Kilkenny Center cafe nearby.

St. Stephen's Green as mentioned (if the weather is pleasant) and also there is a large shopping mall there at the top of Grafton Street, good for snacks, ices, and other kiddie comforts.

Have a super time, Dublin is the most wondeful city to discover, enjoy!!!

That's really helpful, thank you!
