Cala D'Or

I am currently looking at Cala D'Or as a destination for our family holiday next year, there will possibly be 6 adults and 4 children if extended family come with us.
Can anyone recommend places to stay? Haven't decided if we are going self-catering, half board etc. so open to any suggestions on that front. Would like to be within walking distance of beaches, shops and restaurants.

Most of cala d'or is walking distance from the beaches, etc. cala egos is also good. The apartments cala dorada are great (see owners direct.com). Self catering but has its own bar and is totally private and enclosed. Apartments are 1,2 or 3 bed which gives you your own space whilst all being close by to relax together.

We stayed at the barcelona in cala dor- right on the beach ( we visited all the coves and this was by far the nicest and safest for the kids as some coves had a very deep and rough sea). Also round corner from all the trampolines, bouncy castles etc. rooms ok but location really is ideal.
