DS's passport has run out.

We just got it down as we needed his number for something else and found out it expired last month! Please does anyone have any advise for the best way to renew it? We need it for August 17th.
I'm just scrolling through the Post Office website too but want dot post on here as it's holiday season to remind everyone else. Go check your passports!!!

I had to do ours recently and they came back in just over two weeks with the check and send service , you should be ok if you do it very soon .

This happened to friends of ours. Had they discovered on the Friday the passport office would have seen them. But as it was Saturday, their wee lad missed out on disney paris. Mum went on her own with the other kids. Dad stayed home.

You can go to your nearest passport office and they will issue passport same day for a renewal. It costs a little extra, and best if you make an appt first though.

I think I'll go with the check and send option travellingwilbury and fingers crossed. I've check the cost of the same day option sued and it's a bit toppy. We've got 5 weeks so if i get it done tomorrow I think we'll be okay.

yes - you should be fine with 5 weeks before you need it!

We've just had DS's passport back - it took 2 weeks 5 days using the check and send service.

Go to the nearest office, I wouldn't chance anything else this close to departure.

I just phoned the London office and got the next appointment - Friday July 27th!

Thank you so much for this thread - it made me realise that DC4's passport has expired and we are travelling in three weeks!
