Would love to hear recommendations for a nice hotel in new York for myself & dd (12) for Easter break next year. Budget 250 to 300 USD p.n.

Really like the look of the Chelsea pines inn. Has anyone stayed there?

Thank you.

A reverse recommendation - DO NOT stay in The Gershwin. It was a shithole with the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept it. Sleeping on a sack of spuds would have been more comfortable.

Not sure on prices but I stayed in The Beacon Hotel, we had a suite so had a little kitchen area and a seperate bedroom. It was lovely. My mum has stayed in The Holiday Inn midtown and would go back there.

Sorry it might be listed as Hotel Beacon. I cant recommend it enough. Apart from the lovely rooms it is in a fabulous area. Really nice to wander about and pretend you live thereGrin

Doubletree Guest Suites on Times Square is nice and quiet considering how busy Times Square is.

Tripadvisor has recent reviews of the Chelsea Pines Inn. This hotel however has no lift so if stairs are an issue at all that may be a problem.

We stayed at the Roosevelt which was good and The Mayfair which is a small boutique type hotel... Both nice... You'll hardly be in it though so you want reasonable, comfortable and great location.

Thanks all - will check out those recommendations.
