Hotel with family rooms near Pompeii/ Sorrento?

Considering taking volcano-mad 8yo to Pompeii in early October. With me, Husband and daughter we need a family room, or maybe an apartment. Looking at other threads I see Sorrento / Amalfi area is a good base, but most accommodation suggested seems to have just twin rooms. Thinking about a week away, with trips to islands, and hopefully a couple of days round the pool to fill the non-volcanic days! All suggestions appreciated.

Hey Child. I stayed at the Minerva Hotel in Sorrento a couple of years back. It had family rooms. It is gorgeous, and the views are to die for.

Pompeii is amazing, and easy to get there by train from Sorrento. Try to see Herculaneum as well as some of the buildings and artefacts are better preserved there.

You can get a tourist bus from Sorrento to Positano, although it drops you off and you have to walk down through the streets to the beach, but if you do it gradually it isn't too taxing. You need to get back up the hill to the main road to get the bus back though, so allow plenty of time.

we stayed in Villa Pane about 4 years ago but i think it is still there. The owners are lovely and tho it isn't smart it was great value and there is a little pool that the kids loved (8 and 6 at that time)

We had a family room with a double and a put-u-up from memory.

Anna will cook for you too (as you out of town) or they will run you down in to town/pick you up from the station if you don't have a car.

Pompeii amazing but go early to beat crowds/heat
