when for?

if uni holidays-ed uni lets out halls and its quite nice-my fussy parents stayed there when i graduated.

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 15:54

i've never been to morningside in my life, BUT, i do put people into b&bs in newington for work.

the palmerston guest house is pretty cheap.

Filyjonk · 02/03/2006 16:06

Oh crap, just got morningside and newington confused Blush. Sorry, ignore me.

nailpolish · 02/03/2006 16:08

expat, im trying to persuade dh to let us kip in his office in george sq - do you think anyone would notice? Grin

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 16:12

tbh, no, i don't think anyone would notice and if they did, they probably wouldn't care. there's a certain famous prof who lives outside town, and he likes his tipple. he's been well known to kip in his office when he misses the last train home b/c he hung out down the pub too long. :o

nailpolish · 02/03/2006 16:17

no i dont suppose anyone would notice! the place is such a tip too, around where dh is anyway, the cleaners only come twice a wk now

I had a quick look on the Travelodge site - I think the central one is near the Royal Mile but its £60

nailpolish · 02/03/2006 16:28

thats too dear fimbo

we have a night out in edinburgh, my friend is going to oz and ill probably not see her again, shes having a big do in the Merlin, and we are totally skint

dh is saying he will drive there and back (its a 4hr round trip) but id rather he didnt, im trying to persuade him to stay in a b&b but i cant find anywhere cheap enough thats within walking distance (so we can save taxi fares)

Sad

A night in the office sounds good then! You could always take a blow up bed! Grin

expatinscotland · 02/03/2006 16:32

palmerston is about £35/night and probably a fiver for the taxi.

iota · 02/03/2006 16:38

saw \link{http://www.brodieshostels.co.uk/\this} backpackers place on a recent visit to Edinburgh - don't know anything about it just walked past it

nailpolish · 02/03/2006 16:42

omg dh is to much of a square to stay in a hostel, but thanks iota! (its a pity, cos i would)

and thanks expat

He'll be too pi$$ed to notice. Did I mention my sil lives on Morningside Road..........

nailpolish · 03/03/2006 14:33

hi fimbo

a friend who lives in liberton has offered a room for the night - if i get up with her for her night baby feeds to keep her company!

OP posts:
fimbo · 03/03/2006 14:34

Problem solved then. My sil would probably have you put you up - she loves waifs and strays Lol Grin

tamum · 03/03/2006 14:36

Loads round here, especially Gilmore Place, but even the cheapest is about £25 per person per night, so expat's suggestion is far cheaper.

nailpolish · 03/03/2006 14:41

wheres Gilmore place again?

i got confused looking at b&b prices - hotels are usually per room but the b&b's were per person - how confusing

expats suggestion is full that night - thanks anyway expat

It's Bruntsfield/Merchiston- if you turn right by the King's Theatre (coming from Princes St) that's the road. It's quite long, goes towards Polwarth. It would be walkable to the Merlin, and there are loads of B and Bs along there :)

nailpolish · 03/03/2006 14:58

OH YES! i know where you are. friend used to live above the cheap flights shop there.

thanks tamum

im really looking forward to the party now - friend we are staying with is going too and she is bf so shes not drinking and im not going to either so we can sit and gossip during her night feeds with baby, and i might even let her have a long lie and ill cuddle baby in the morning Grin
