Playground with water fun? In Berkshire/Surrey/Hants/Hampshire area?

I live in Sandhurst, Berkshire, and last year I was recommended a new playground in my area(ish) that had a water theme, ie. not a paddling pool, but water fun stuff for older kids (ie not toddlers). And now I can't remember the name of the place! Does it sound familiar to anyone? I think it could be in Woking/Wokingham/Aldershot, it was definitely run by a council and entry was free or very cheap.

Can't think of one in Wokingham, but hope it is!
There is California country park but that is quite old and mainly for toddlers.
Will ask around and see if anyone knows

Thanks, kahlua4me, I know California Country Park, it's great, but it's not the one ;) I really want to find this place, as my kids are getting too old for the toddler paddling pools.

Portsmouth (Hampshire) has got a couple of new splashpools (Southsea seafront and Hilsea Lido) and the Pyramids Leisure Water Centre, my little google friend tells me.

Thanks, firawla, it's not the Lido, but I think I'll bookmark to remember to go there this year.

LineRunner, thanks, but Portsmouth is too far from me, it was nearer. But I would love to visit the places you mention, they sound great, I think I'll start a whole new bookmarks folder for all these great links places I am getting here ;)

IHeartIona, thanks, I will check out Gogmore Farm Park.

The park with water features I am trying to find is less than 2 years old. I think it has sand as well.

Priory park in Reigate?

misscph1973 · 11/07/2012 11:22

Thanks, cyanarasamba, will check it out, but again, not the one.

The mystery is however solved - it's Locks' Ride Recreation Ground in Winkfield! A local friend knew it, and I found a great (ahem) quote in a paper from May, when the neighbours had made an official complaint about the noise from the playground:

The park "...is really full of fat women from Bracknell who have no imagination or intelligence to do anything with their even more unimaginative and unintelligent children. I wish they would off"."

So this summer I will, although I am not fat and strictly speaking not from Bracknell, hopefully join these women and their children in being noisy...
