Am just about to book a holiday with Eclipse and thought I might ask for any opinions on hotel or resort as it will be the first trip abroad with our two year old DD!!!!

Depending on what type of holiday you want, we had a lovely holiday in Mojacar(Mo-hac-ar)on the Costa Del ALmeria. It is a quietish town with a lovely beach (man made) it has the restuarants and pubs, but just a bus ride away up the mountain you're in the village (take the bus not the car, its a great ride with excellent views)
It has a lovely patio cafe and all the little shops to go around.

If we could afford to go on holiday this year I would be booking back there straight away. I also know some very reasonable price villas with pool if you want to know more please ask.

Oooh sounds like just what we are after. We were only thinking a going for a week but may blow the budget and go for two. I would love more info about the villas, thanks.

Hi Oasis.

I'm sorry as I posted my message I realised you wanted info about that place in Almeria, I'd read it as three seperate places.

The villas are privately owned, and are really resonable prices but still very nice with kitchen, 2 bedrooms, balcony, lounge etc. I will say they didn't have a t.v. if you've got older kids they might be disappointed!

Can you email me or CAT me? email: mumatuks AT hotmail DOT com. I can send you some photos of the place and the scenerie etc if you like!

Good luck with the holiday, must admit I'm slightly envious! Grin

Have you looked at tripadvisor.com?

Hi oasis! We actually have an apartment in Mojacar so know the area very well. Puerto Marine, so I have heard, is a very nice hotel with lovely rooms and not far from the sea.

HOWEVER, it is quite a trek from the main part of Mojacar. Where the Puerto Marina is, there are a few hotels but very few restaurants, bars etc. To walk to where there is more is quite a trek. The whole of the seafront at Mojacar, end to end is about 5miles. Incidentally, there is a lack of taxis in Mojacar also - about 2 at the last count! If you are thinking of being hotel based, that is not a problem, as it is a lovely position near the beach.

But if you want to go to nice bars and restaurants, you really will have difficulty.

There is a lovely commercial centre about 2 miles from the hotel that has some great shops. Hope this all helps....

Thanks to everyone for info. I have tried Trip advisor but could not find hotel. I have lots to go on, thanks Hellibean for tip about distance to village, not sure that we would want to be hotel based for a whole two weeks. Mumatuks have tried to email you again but it is bouncing back as undelivered.
