Fossil walks and rock pooling at Lyme Regis?

Has anyone done the rock pooling and fossil walks at LR please? They seem quite reasonable in price and could be quite interesting. My DS is 5.

we have never done any of the guided tours, we tend to go in the winter, when the beach is full of experts that are always more than happy to educate the children and us, I have heard from friends that the guided tours are really good,

my children love it, they seem to burn up a lot of calories when we go, take lots of snacks.

We have been to Charmouth, near LR a few times.
They run fantastic fossil hunting trips that our dc really enjoy. The fossil centre is right by the beach with parking and the guides are very helpful and informative.
