Can anyone recommend a bar/restaurant near Victoria in London for an evening out?

Not looking for anything child-friendly, this is for an adult evening out. It needs to be not so noisy we can't all hear ourselves talk, and must serve both chips and cider.

Please help, all you lovely people who live or work in London! Smile

I work just round the corner from the Loosebox and it's ok for after work drinks and they do nice chips, but it's not that great. It also gets busy on Thursdays and Fridays with people from all the offices round here booking areas, so unless you reserve an area you might not get seats.

b bar is nice, does great cocktails and deffo does cider and chips. The food is v nice too.

Most of the pubs round this area are shite.

We would be booking, to make sure we get seats. Thanks for your recommendation Lula, I'll go and have a look at it.

I can't do links on my phone. I haven't been there for ages but look up Chimes in Pimlico. It's about a 5-10 minute walk.

They do lots of pies and pear as well as apple cider.

NormanTheForeman · 05/07/2012 21:27

Ah have looked at that one already darth - good on the cider front, but maybe a bit too pie-based for my mates........

The road it's in had lots of other places too. One was a French bistro type so maybe pommes frite & cider in bowls ??

NormanTheForeman · 05/07/2012 21:39

Now that sounds cool - any idea what it's called?

There used to be (like, 10+ years ago) a Balls Bros wine bar nr Victoria, towards Buck Palace. That's where I met my DH Smile

What day of the week are you thinking of? Some places are deathly quiet at weekends but crammed full during the week, esp on a Thursday

NormanTheForeman · 07/07/2012 01:35

It will be a Friday evening......
