car seats as hold luggage

Wondered if anyone can suggest how best to pack car seats. We are taking 2 dc to Canada this summer and are taking our own high back boosters for both of them, as hiring boosters costs $10 a day each with hire car and cannot be guaranteed at the other end. Air Canada say they carry car seats but not how we should pack them. A large suitcase? 2 smaller suitcases? wrapped in bubble wrap and in a plastic sack? All suggestions and experience welcome, thank you!

When we've taken car seats they've gone in hold with buggies etc. We made the decision not to cover them at all. Our thinking was this - if we covered them in bubble wrap the handlers may feel they could toss them around a bit more. We therefore wanted them in a state where the handlers may think they need to be a bit careful!

Good luck. x

You can buy carseat bags just like the buggy ones. Have a look at kiddicare.
