Weather in the Vendee, France.

Hi, we are off on a much anticipated and needed holiday next week (from Saturday 14th) to the Vendee, near Fontenay le Comte. I chose it specifically because it is meant to be hot and sunny, and not as long a drive from Glasgow as where we went to last year in the Languedoc.

Now am obsessively checking the weather forecasts and becoming increasingly depressed as rain seems to be forecast for every day, not in plans for a relaxing time in the pool! None of us are God of course and can control the weather but surely we will get some sun? Please Smile

We live in the Vendee. The forecast today was for 22C and rain. Instead it was 26 and sunny until about 5pm when it clouded over. Yesterday was 29C but the forecast was for about 24. (temps are all full shade temps) Forecast lately has been useless. We haven't had the best summer ever but not that bad either. The best forecast to look at is www.meteofrance.fr but even that is getting it wrong.

The Vendee isn't normally as hot as the Languedoc but it is sunnier. I prefer 28C and sunny to 35 and stormy anyday.

Have a great time.

Aw thanks frenchfancy so much, that's cheered me up a bit! It was September when we were in the Languedoc last year so it wasnt roasting just nice, but not hot enough to go in the pool for me. Im like you, I would prefer the sun!
