Madrid apartment/hotel - recommendation needed urgently please!

Can anyone please recommend apartment type accommodation in Madrid? Or a hotel that will guarantee interconnecting rooms?

In 2008, my family stayed at the Principe 11 aparthotel for a week:

We were happy and comfortable there. It's very central, but pretty basic. It's been four years though -- although I checked the website to make sure it's still going strong. (It's looks as if it's undergone some updating, too. It was decorated in earth tones when we were there.) I hope you find a more recent recommendation, too.
