An afternoon in Chiswick?

I'm returning to Chiswick after 2 years away - just for a weekend - and I need some afternoon entertainment for dss 3.5years and 21 months.

Is ChildsPlay still any good? Will it be heaving at 2.00 on a Friday? And I heard there's a kid friendly cafe in the Chiswick House grounds now - is that worth a try?

And while I'm asking - where's a good place for a Saturday lunch with the family?

Looking forward - enviously - to lots of good W4 recommendations (we're in Salisbury now - lovely but not quite so bursting with kiddy places!)

thanks!

Thanks KS! I've read fab reviews of Le Vacherin - may not be quite the thing for two crazy toddlers! But will see if we can persuade the friends (parents of teenagers) we're staying with to do us an evening there sometime.
