Family holidays in Croatia

We've decided to look at Croatia for a family holiday this summer (DC's are 5 and 3). It may be a bit late to book anything but can anyone give advice on good places to stay, hotels or villas? I don't know much about the place but it looks lovely! TIA

Just got back from a few days in Dubrovnik ..weather was hot and sunny , about 30deg. There was a lack of beaches as the coastline is rocks and cliffs. Dubrovnik itself I wouldn't say is for kids tbh more of a sightseeing adult place.

I stayed at the Villa Kolocep hotel on the Island of Kolocep which is a 20 minute ferry ride away from Dubrovnik. It is the only hotel on the tiny island and there are no cars so lovely and safe. Views were absolutely breathtaking.

Villa Kolocep looks like a lovely spot Fluffy. Was it a nice hotel, good for kids?
