Hi guys, we arrived yesterday in Woolacombe for our 1st family holiday, we are going to stay here 2 weeks and was wondering if anyone that has been here can recommend us good things to do with our children, age 2 years old and 6 months old... :-)

fish and chips on woolacombe beach, lunch or dinner.
climbing the sanddunes (regardless of weather that is a lot of fun!)

If the weather is good for any of the time you are there, take a picnic onto the beach, and hire a surfboard or bodyboard and wetsuit for the adults. take it in turns while the other one helps the 2yo to build the biggest fort known to humans, including a moat and river to the sea.

There is a great little shell beach just along from woolacombe called Barricane which is great for rock pooling, you have to have an ice cream at normies ice cream parlour in the village, lots of lovely ice creams to choose from!! The next village along croyde is lovely for a trip to the beach there, if you want to do something indoors in ilfracombe there is a beach called tunnels but it has got a lovely cafe and soft play bit too!!
If you need any other advice just ask!! I live here!! Smile
Oh there is also a little park up past HSBC bank on the left good for a little play and out of the way so normally quiet.

Slightly further afield is Exmoor Zoo which is very good.

And the National Trust tractor tours at Mortehoe (?) are very good.
