Get there as early as possible. Bring your own lunch. If you want to go on Atlantis go there first then make your way to the back of the park and work your way back - go to Driving school early if you want to go.

If the park is open until 8pm then the rides get a lot quieter for the last hour ( we did 10am -8pm last year with a 5 year old DS so it is possible)

Lego city sorry can't remember what its called exactly but all the lego towns etc is brilliant and is nice to relax in if the weather is good.

Pirate show is definitely worth catching, if children sit at the front they might get wet, time it to have your lunch sitting watching it.

Have a great time, I love Legoland its so well done.

We're going tomorrow - big wave! Grin

Definitely take a picnic and if it looks like the weather is going to be nice (mmmm, so/so) it's worth taking swim stuff and a towel as kids big and small love playing at Waterworks.

If the weather isn't nice, or rainy at lunchtime, then head for the rib place by Pirate Falls. Lots of tables under cover and we have never been stopped from eating our picnics in there despite not buying any of the ludicrously overpriced food.

Definitely get Lost Parent stickers at the gate and stick liberally on children. Ds has retrieved lost parents that way on more than one occasion - not that we want to lose him, you understand, but...

Qbots are great but you do still have to queue - just so you know. My ds always forgets this fact!

Have a great day.

If you're only going for a day, I'd advise deciding which rides you want to go on in advance, arriving early and doing the rides first. Then looking round the rest of the park. My boys absolutely loved Miniland and we spent ages there; ds1 liked chasing the Eurostar!

Take a packed lunch as food is expensive but some of the eating places do special offers after a certain time - 4 or 5pm - so it could be quite good to eat there late if you're then driving home.

We got wristbands for the boys at the entrance that you can write your mobile number on which would be useful if they got lost.

Enjoy! We went for 2 days in April and the boys would love to go back sometime!

On the Q-bot, book the next ride the minute you get into the current ride. As soon as the attendant checks you in, book the next one. Even with Qbots, the waits can be quite long.

Everybody plans on turning up 15 minutes before the gates open so the queue is massive. If you turn up an hour or so later the queue is less or be there really early.
Don't just sit in the left hand lane as you drive into the car park - the right one moves quicker and the signs tell you to use both.
Take spare set of clothes and a long mac - you can do the wet rides first as people leave them not wanting to walk around wet all day but you do get really wet on the Viking ride and Pirate Falls.

You k ow you need the q bot for everyone that's going on the ride?

CharlieBoo · 29/06/2012 22:05

Thanks for all the tips!!! We were going to leave at 7am.. Have just done the packed lunch and sorted clothes for the morning.. Got towel and change of clothes.

Only 2 of us will be going on at a time as dd (3) prob will only want to go on the smaller rides so either dh or I will have to wait with dd and the bags so pointless getting 4.

We're staying overnight in a premier inn so we can go to Windsor castle the next day. This ds is looking forward to this more!!

Thanks again

Take care on the Fairy Tale Brook...the sign says don't stand yet, there will be a bump, so there was a bump, then DD and DP stood up, then there was ANOTHER bump as the boat behind hit theirs, both fell back into their seats and DD broke one of her fingers as she fell :(

Thank you... We had a fab day! Was so busy wasn't it mimbleandlittlemy? Just Incase anyone searches on here about legoland the q-bots were worth every penny!!! We did about 10 rides, all big ones and didn't queue for any! Wouldnt hesitate to use them again, especially on busy days and school hols.

Hi CharlieBoo - was busy but not as busy as it can get. Quietest we've ever found it was on a sunny August bank holiday monday when everyone was obviously elsewhere apart from us.

Did you do the new Atlantis ride? Thought it was really brilliant - and worth the extra we'd paid on the Qbot. And the sun shone like a good 'un so what more could you ask? GrinGrin

MummyDoIt · 02/07/2012 16:34

How much do the Qbots cost and how do they work? I've never really understood it! Do you book a time and turn up then?
