Was thinking of a house swap, as we have large house outside of Chester/ welsh border.
Anyone done this, good or bad, did you use a company , tips if you did or advise please.

There used to be a house swop section in 'classifieds' on here but also there was a larger scale house swop launched at the beginning of the year. Ads for it often pop up. Have you done an advanced search on 'house swops'?

Sure my hubby found a link through the Gaurdian website....

Here it is

Good luck. If you do it, please write on MN how it went..... We've always fancied but never quite got round to doing it!

We did a number of home exchanges when we still lived in London. Absolutely loved it! We used homeexchange.com.
Never had a bad experience, home spotless on return and we had holidays in Copenhagen, south of France and Sweden that cost a fraction of what we would have paid with accommodation.

Thank you all, will look into these and if we go ahead will post on here.

We used lovehomeswap last year to do 4 swaps to australia, spain and uk. All worked out perfectly!

We have organised a house swap through homeexchange.com - lots of choice - have a trip to Oz planned at xmas and one to Florida next summer through the house swap. Very easy web site to use and you can browse all the houses before deciding to sign up (30 us dollars per 3 months).
