has anyone been to Krabi in Thailand?

following on from my "has anyone been to Sabah, Borneo" thread - DH, the DTs and I are trying to find a decent location to meet up with his sis and her family who are coming from Aus. They suggested Sabah but it proved too many hours in transit at various airports to be logistically feasible with 18 month old twins.

Thailand is now back on the menu - we thought Krabi looked nice in the brochures and wondered if anyone had been and specifically to the Sheraton there? Any comments gratefully received!!!

My sister has just come back from krabi and said that it was paradise. Quite quite with mainly beachy stuf to do, not loads of clubs etc. Im not sure where she stayed, will check I know it was right on the beach. if you have any questions i'll pass them on.

good beaches. very nice boat trips. nice scenery. it was actually one of my less favourite bits of Thailand but I think that's cos i am not a James Bond fan and DP wanted to go there only to do the James Bond boat trip which was wasted on me.

obviously meant quite quiet [doh]

Yes it's very nice.
Well it was 12 years ago and now it's been re-built I'm sure it's even nicer. It's beach, beach, beach you and your sis and hte kids could just spend all day on the beach. There maybe some trips out but at 18 months your kids will just enjoy the beach.

Nicer than Sabah for a holiday IMO, but that's only because of the rellies.
