Please can anyone tell me about parking in Paris, we would be staying at a hotel somewhere hopefully reasonably central due to the size of our group we will have a hired people carrier so we are very keen it doesnt get scratched!!
last time I was in Paris people were touch parking so I'm worried
plus due to living in London I have a phobia of getting towed and traffic wardens....

so please some advice where, how do we park, where are the signs telling us what we can and cant do? is it all residents only..
i will try and post in living overseas too
thanks

I'm assuming that you won't be using the car too much when you are in Paris? We have used this company in the past, but there are many others:

Great service and safe and secure parking.

Good link from UKSky. You will find it very difficult to park in central Paris. Find a car park, pre-book and leave it there for your stay in paris.

A couple of years ago we stopped off in Paris for two nights on the way back to the Eurotunnel. We booked an apartment - and made sure that it had parking. It had an underground garage - which was great and well worth the price we paid for the apartment.

Do NOT attempt to drive around the centre of Paris. Unless you are feeling wild and reckless Grin

thanks now you are right we would need to park it but it needs to be kind of safe since it is a hire car and big and shiny

i will look into some garages

Are you putting a roof box on your car? If so, you will need to remove it to use an underground car park.
