Only been once...Thomson Talyot apartments in Cala n'Forcat. Very child friendly, reasonable pricing, not a great beach though, more of a cove.

We stayed in Cala'n'Bosch, I know a few Mumsnetters like this resort. The beach is probably one of the larger calas which are all cove like, not long sweeping beaches, so can get quite crowded. The disadvantage if you have young DC is you can be quite a distance from the waters edge if the only place you can find is right at the back and you can't watch them closely.

We stayed at the Aldea on B&B basis, although you can self cater, not bad hotel but not wonderful either, lots of families staying. Its' best point was it is right next to the beach down a little path. The harbour and all the restaurants and bars are within walking distance. These too can get very busy.

I liked Menorca, but with hindsight would stay in another resort.

Arenal D'en Castell, Son Bou, Cala Galdana, Sant Tomas, - all lovely resorts with nice sandy beaches, very pretty scenery and surroundings.

Son Bou has the longest beach on the Island, 4km of gorgeous white sand. It gets very busy near the hotels, but a few minutes walk along and it becomes much quieter. Arenal and Galdana are in beautiful horse-shoe shaped bays, stunningly pretty, but hilly.

I'm not a big fan of Cala'n Bosch or Cala'n Porter. Can be a bit "English" whereas many of the other resorts are much more traditionally Spanish, which I like.
