Would love to hear about your experiences of the journey from Uk to Spain by Ferry and what you thought of the camp site and surrounding area. We're almost ready to book and just need a little more convincing!

That site is on our list for next year. We're thinking of getting the ferry to Northern Spain, staying a week, then making our way back through France.

We're still undecided whether to do the long ferrry journey (with a risk off being stuck out at sea for 24 in choppy conditions) to spain or the cheaper option of Brittany (with the risk of poor weather conditions).

Can anyone advise me on this???

We've just come back from La Playa Joyel and had a great holiday. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and was 5 mins walk for us from our mobile home. It is a real spanish experience, and it would be good to have some basic beginners spanish to help with ordering in local bars and restaurants although the campsite staff speak good English. Our ferry crossing from Plymouth to Santander was great but the return trip was quite grim! Make sure that you are well stocked with travel sickness tablets!
