Good to hear, thanks.

LoopyLoopsCorgiPoops · 24/06/2012 10:01

I did a few years ago. All good, but I've chosen to go with Emirates this time as their baggage allowance is 30Kg not 20Kg.

Azura · 24/06/2012 10:20

Yep I have. Again, it was a few years ago but they were great. However, I would say Singapore Airlines are easily the best (and often cheaper - at least they have been when I have been travelling recently).

bananasarebeautiful · 24/06/2012 14:55

I have flown Singapore before and do like them but at the moment Malaysia is cheapest for us! Some of the Emirate flights are pretty cheap too but I have no experience of them either.

wickedfairy · 24/06/2012 17:56

I have flown Air Malaysia and they were very good.

Decent leg room, nice food and I would use them again.

Flown Malaysia Airlines several times - mostly due to price and flight times were good times with DC's routines etc. No problems with them whatsoever and the aiport at KL if you are passing through there is lovely. They also have a transit hotel if your transit is really long. We once had 8 hours between flights and just checked into the transit hotel (with hand luggage - no need to collect bags or pass through immigration etc) and showered and slept with the DC. Also flown Emirates who are equally good. Flown Virgin Atlantic, QANTAS and BA and really no complaints - have done the long haul UK to Aus A LOT!!!

underthemountain · 05/07/2012 18:39

Have booked-wish we had time to try out the transit hotel though!

Fenouille · 05/07/2012 19:20

I flew with them a few years ago and thought they were great. They're also starting A380 services from London now so that should be even better.

BetterOnACamel · 05/07/2012 19:23

I will love them forever because once, when I was a student at college abroad they upgraded me to business! I ate everything in sight The food was great and the service lovely.

underthemountain · 06/07/2012 19:34

I have always dreamed of being upgraded-guess it's very unlikely to happen with a family in tow!

4goingon14 · 06/07/2012 19:36

Fly with them regularly to Australia and really like them. They have great on-board entertainment systems to keep you occupied, friendly crew and it's nice and quick to get through when you get to KLIA. I don't usually like the food on the flight...but there aren't alot of flights I do.

underthemountain · 06/07/2012 20:38

The food is pretty universally rubbish on planes. I only get excited by the bread and butter usually. And I once had an incredibly delicious chocolate chip cookie on an American airline.

MotherWombat · 06/07/2012 22:36

Synchronicity!! Just booked flights for myself and 2 DS (5 & 3), have flown them before years ago when single and they were good. I am taking my two young and bouncy boys out on my own (hubby coming out later) so was being very picky about routes and looked at tons of flights.

Flight times to Aus via KL are good and thought the monorail 2min trip between main terminal and departure gates might prove good distraction for the boys in transit. Does anyone know if there is a play area airside in departures?

underthemountain · 06/07/2012 22:57

I have had a wee google and it mentions a play area on level 5. I will take a mental note of that in case we have time to kill!

blueshoes · 06/07/2012 23:16

Good for the price

clam · 05/08/2012 17:11

I would have said Malaysia was up there with Emirates (who are brilliant) until last time I flew back with them from KL, when they refused to let anyone on the plane with water bottles for some reason. Frisked everyone at the plane door! Then 2/3 of the way back to Heathrow they ran out of water on board and could only serve orange juice. Until that ran out as well!

iluvkids · 07/09/2012 21:35

thanks for all the feedback, much appeciated
