Any recommends for nice hotels gratefully received! Doesn't have to be super fancy but modern and clean. Ideally on a beach, with pool and a restaurants or two. Near a village or town with bars and restaurants. Very happy if it's quiet.
TIA

No specific recommendations but I can highly recommend the stretch of coast between Toulon and St Tropez. Gigaro beach is one of my favourites - there are a couple of hotels there - eg La Pinede - but it is expensive!

Also Cavaliere and Le Lavandou are lovely. I would suggest looking at www.booking.com - pick a town and set the search results to 20km or something.

It's all pretty gorgeous around here.

If you want sandy beaches, don't come east of Juan Les Pins (lovely place, btw). Menton, Monaco, Beaulieu, Villefranche, Nice etc all have pebbles for a beach.

Juan Les Pins, Cap d'Antibes, and Cannes have lovely sand beaches. Look into Cannes and Juan les Pins in particular.

I am very partial to Juan Les Pins!

As already said It's a big area. Toulouse /Albi is great and cheaper less crowded than then real touristy areas

Not sure of hotels but the Calanques along the coast from Marseilles to Cassis are beautiful. Form part of a national park both on land and in the sea too. Wonderful diving - even snorkelling - great climate (except during the mistral) , and so much to see, especially if you have a car. www.marseille-provence.info/places/sights-and-attractions/237-the-calanques.html

Thanks so much for all the ideas. I'll look into it a bit more - will decide in location then stat looking at hotels! Smile
