Going to book a week or two there. Not been before. Love Greece.

However, I am open to other Greek Islands. Cost is a factor this year so not looking to spend more than £600 pp for two of us...

Happy Holidays!

The resort of Tsilivi is lovely and typically Greek.

Hope you have a fab time wherever you go :)

Thanks Lavender :)

I have heard Tsilivi is lovely from a colleague... typically Greek works best for me :)

We're just back from Alykanas, which was ace. Spent a week at the Alykanas Village Hotel which was perfect for Dd(3), DM and I. Wouldn't have chosen this hotel if we didn't have DD with us, but would recommend the resort. Pretty quiet, but v friendly locals, and excellent restaurants/tavernas and a gorgeous beach.

We drove through Tsilivi a couple of times, and stopped one afternoon at the beach there, and it was much busier than Alykanas. Wee bit 'Blackpool' in some bits, we felt (sorry). Irish bars, English breakfasts, etc. No nightclubs in Alykanas, but bars open late (3am-ish) if you were looking for that. If you do decide to go there, I can recommend
some restaurants! :)

In all seriousness, the big resorts (Laganas, Tsilivi & Kalamaki) had grown considerably since I was last there, about 10 years ago. The smaller resorts like Alykanas, Alikes & Argassi are suffering because of the lack of tourists and are trying really hard to be extra hospitable, and there are some real bargains to be had out there for these.... Just my thoughts.

The main problem with Alikes we found was that awful stagnant river and the millions of bites we got from the mosquitos breeding there. No problem with the beach or restaurants.

Zante isn't as attractive as some of the other islands if scenery is your thing.

We went to Kalamaki last year with the DCs. A bit more commercial than we would have liked but very family orientated, lots of restaurants rather than noisy bars. I wanted whitewashed cottages and 3 tavernas sort of thing which it wasn't, but for a family holiday it was great.

I hated staying in Laganas, full of the worst type of club 18-30 holidaymakers.

We have booked Tragaki, Zante. Looks lovely (and peaceful) :)
