Anyone been before? DH & I are going in July for our honeymoon (can't wait, haven't been abroad in 5 years!) and am just looking for a bit of general advice about thing to do/buy. We are staying in a hotel in Agadir, and will do a day trip to Marrakesh, and possibly a trip into the Atlas Mountains. Any other recommendations of things to do?

Hi,
Loved Morocco - went a few years ago and had a fab time. Are you wedded to staying in Agadir the whole time? Just asking, as it's a shame if you missed the old Royal cities of Meknes and Fes, which were a real highlight for us. The train services are pretty good, and we used them mainly to get around. We flew into Casablanca, and out of Marrakech, and spent just over 2 weeks travelling around - Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Fes, Western Sahara, Todra Gorge, Atlas Mountains, Marrakech and Essaouira. I'd say you could easily spend a couple of days in Marrakech, and Essaouira is well worth a chill out visit too. :)

A day trip to Taroudant might be nice. It's about 45 minutes drive inland from Agadir, and is often called a mini Marrakech. The Gazelle D'Or was stunning there when we were last there 10 years ago, and worth stopping for lunch.

Very Envy. Have a gorgeous time.
