A week in October with an 18 month old?

We want to take our 18 month old away with us for the first week in October. We'd like somewhere warm and relaxing with nice food, no more than a four hour flight away. Can anyone offer recommendations?

We went to Cyprus one October half term and had a great time. Canaries could also work.

Turkey? The Lycian coast is lovely and weather in October is usually great - sea about 27 degrees too! Places I'd recommend would be Gocek and Dalyan and surrounds. Kalkan too but not so much with a little one perhaps. Might avoid bigger places like Marmaris and Fethiye but everyone's different. And I'm doubtless stretching the definition of Lycian here, before any pedants feel the need to reply! My year old girl loves Turkish meze type food...

If you choose Turkey make sure you have a heated pool as my friends went last year and found the water freezing.

Thanks. I'm not too keen on Turkey but possibly because I've heard bad things about the big resorts-presumably like similar places the smaller towns are better for families? I've been to Istanbul twice and loved the people I met.

Having said that I've been following links to the Kinderhotels on other threads here and they look brilliant. Obviously less warm but in such beautiful places with good walking.
