So sick of booking what I think are expensive holidays in what seems like luxury hotels, only find that its as shabby as the holidays I used to find myself in as a teenager at least back then you got what you paid for!

Dont want to do Spain or France. Thought I found a recommendation on here in Sardinia but on further examination on trip advisor its not good. I do find the standards on trip advisor are in the main accurate.

Nice surroundings, good clean comfortable accommodation, close to beach, pools, lots to do a bit of sun, maybe a little bit of luxury, is it too much to ask? I just spend hours trawling the internet and always draw a blank. Need to find somebody as fussy as me who has found their ultimate holiday.

We went to the Playa Pesquero in Cuba last year and it was fantastic - absolutely loved it and we didn't see our DD1 (then 12) for dust as she was off with all the other big kids doing activities.

Not really luxurious (it is Cuba after all; don't go expecting plasma tellies and marble bathrooms) but lovely hotel, great facilities and very clean with excellent staff who couldn't do enough for you. We found the food excellent and plentiful.

Not sure about your budget but you could try Neilson's Club Adakoy - we went last year and it was fab. There are loads of tweens and teens there with fab clubs for them doing sailing, windsurfing, skiing and whole lot more. It isn't cheap but given it includes flights and most meals plus all the activities I thought it was pretty reasonable.

I want somewhere like that Neilsons place but for half the price... any suggestions? LOL

Ouch J & J, 3k for 7 nights for two adults and one 10 year old! Looks great though.

I went to Almond Smugglers Cove in St Lucia with the children a few years ago and that was lovely.
However for a touch of luxury cruising is hard to beat.

Have had a couple of properly luxury hotels in morocco, also the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando is cracking with of course Universal right next door, what ten year old could fail to love that.

Windjammer landing in st lucia.

Can't really help with Europe as we prefer villas here.
