Ha Ha Bar in Gunwharf Quays - Portsmouth

We cashed in £15 worth Tesco Clubcard vouchers and went for lunch in the above restaurant on Saturday. There are a number of Ha Ha Bars around the UK - check out their website. We hadn't booked and it was very busy but we managed to find a table in the "smoking" section which actually wasn't bad at all. Basically, you pick up a menu, find a table and then order your food at the bar (30 min wait) after giving your table number. A waiter/waitress brings your food to the table. Three of us had "posh" burgers with Skinny Chips - £6.95 each - and two had kids meals - £3.50 each which included a drink. The adult portions were just about enough but the kids portions were quite small. They did, however, give our children a piece of chicken instead of the options on offer for the same price. We all easily managed a pudding - £4.50 each - generous portions and very tasty - cheesecake for DH and profiteroles for us! One bottle of red wine and one other drink for DD used up all £60 worth of tokens and we paid about another fiver on top. There didn't seem any need to tip, so we didn't.

I'd say it was a good place for kids during the day - it's quite a loud place and no-one would notice any boisterous children. The food is right down their street but I'm glad we didn't pay full whack ourselves as we would have felt we'd paid too much for what we had. With young children, I'd book a table beforehand and also try and go outside of the really busy times. I'd rate this place 8/10 overall.
