we have not a penny more than £1000 (lucky us!) to go on a week's holiday in late august with our two DDs aged 6 and 2. We would love to go abroad to warner climes (France? ) and preferably to drive as cost of flights seems prohibitive at the mo, but UK also good We would like to be as close to a beach as possible, or a place with a good pool complex, access to shop, bar, cafe etc. We are happy in a mobile home, caravan, hotel, but not a tent and we don't want to share a room with the kids, although happy on a sofa bed. Have looked at the usual ferry/ holiday sites but everything seems to be booked up or too expensive. All ideas welcome for websites, friends places, places you have been to etc etc. Thanks!

tons of cheap majorca deals

nothingoldcanstay · 06/06/2012 19:23

This one caught my eye in Majorca it has great reviews on trip advisor and caters for children really well - £750 for all of you.
I thought this was a bargain

Fluffy1234 · 06/06/2012 19:38

But those prices are only for 1 night.

Sorry I sniggered then at the 1 night holiday.
Have you looked at Siblu Loire Valley?

nothingoldcanstay · 06/06/2012 20:16

Bother!!! I thought I had put seven days in Blush! Seven days get's you a 3* and just the one pool (if you have an extra £72!)

Thanks all. Sorry delayed reply. Been back at work. Ok. Majorca suggestion was a total winner. Have never been but prob about to book 1 week in apartment in Cala dor - comes to 1200 quid - will extend credit card debt - but looks cheerful enough. Anyone been there? Last time I went to balearics I had 10 hours sleep in a week on an Ibizan bender - 15 years ago.

Thomson AlFresco or Keycamp have loads of cheap deals in family holiday parks in Europe with pools and water slides, beaches and outdoor trampolines/footie pitches. Loads to do. You can get a 2-3 bedroom mobile home with decking and BBQ for a week for £400-600, then add flights or ferry.

If you fancy a campsite have a look at Canvas holidays - cheaper than Keycamp or Al Fresco and just as good. Loads of sites all across France, Spain and Italy.
