Sydney in June?

Have the chance to go to Sydney in early June ( ie autumn there) with dh and dds ( 3 and 15 months) . We'd go for 2 weeks , and would like to fit in trip to Ayer's rock ( dh desperate to see it) and Queensland.
Is this a good time to go? We'd be staying with a friend who lives over there and she says June's fine. I don't want to go in summer as will be too hot for dds. If not June, when would you MNers recommend going?

I think at that time of year it will be fine. Went in Oct and both Queensland and Norther Territory v hot.

Look at www.australia.com for info.

uluru will be warm but freezing at night - you can stay in Alice Springs and do trips out to Uluru.

You will find Sydney fine during the day. We had friends come over july/Aug and they found the weather fab. Not too hot.

Depends where you go in Queensland. YOU will find Cairns etc fab - again you are coming in winter which is their dry season - so you will avoid the wet season and summer storms.

I would do Sydney for a week seeing friends, two/three days at the most for Uluru and then the rest of the time in somewhere like Cairns - that way you can get the rainforest and the coast experience.
