I am moving there in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone could recommend toddler groups, Doctors - that sort of thing...or even if there are any to avoid.

Any advice appreciated.

hi i live just off the junction before whiteley, where are you moving from? it's quite a big place but seems to be so wide spread,it is still being developed in a lot of places. i will find out for you about doctors and play groups, i have a good friend who lives in whitley i'll ask her.

I am moving from Corfe Castle in Dorset. We are moving on 11 march to a rented place overlooking the field behind the shopping area and tesco. I haven't even had chance to look at the shops yet. House hunting from a distance is a nightmare...

Susan, I'm not in Whitely, so don't know re: Drs etc, but I'm in Fareham locality so know Whitely. You'll be very near some nice shops, Whitely shops are great and the tescos is big! I know there is a leisure centre on that site too.

Fareham is about a ten minute drive away and is a very nice town. I'm fairly new to the area and someone advised me on here that the local NCT group is active so it might be worth phoning them for toddler groups, etc. Also very close is Titchfield which has a nice village centre, playgroups etc. You should find it an OK place I think, hope move goes well x
