Hello- has anyone been to the Alton towers water park? What did you think?

Also is there anything similar - waves, slides etc- in Devon?

I have, it was great fun. Spent the whole day there. Its nice and warm too. The food is quite expensive though, and they advertise healthy eating options but we found they weren't actually available!

A good day, I would recommend it. My DS is 10.

Went about 3 weeks ago. Really didn't like it which we were surprised about as we've wanted to go for ages. Not a great deal to do. Lazy river that you have to walk around. Slides are okay except the day we went was so busy we had to queue 20mins to get a rubber ring to go on the slide. Then another 20 mins to actually go on the slide. So we only went on 1 out of 3. We left after just about 2 hours.

We had just spent a week in center parcs where the swimming pool complex is amazing though.

Alton Towers is great for few hours - mine were 11,9 and 5 when we went. Also took DD for her 10th birthday with 3 friends. They all loved it. Sandcastles in Blackpool is good but the rides aremostly quite big so mine only wanted 1 go on each and weren't then keen to go on again. Not as good as Alton Towers for mine
