My son is desperate to go on an Aeroplane. We can't afford a holiday or for the three of us to update our passports so I was wondering where you could fly to and from within the uk very cheaply.
Would love to surprise him for his birthday.

Has anyone does this ?

The first time ds went on a plane he was 3, and dh took him up from Heathrow to Edinburgh. He told him they were going to Australia.

DS called me and said Australia was a bit colder than he expected and "there isn't many kangaroos" but that the plane was exciting Grin

Have a look on Easyjet. You'll still need photo ID, though.

It's not really any cheaper based on destination so just look at who fly's out of your closest airport (airports all have websites ) and see where they go from there.

Have you thought of Jersey though? Does have the advantage of being outside of mainland UK so will feel different. Is only a half hour flight from Southampton or an hour from London so you can come back same day.

Or do you have an airfield near you? www.airwaysflyingclub.co.uk/gift-flights.aspx

I don't know how old your ds is, but if he's 11 or so, he could have a flying lesson for under £100.

I regularly travel from LHR to Edinburgh for £35 each way, British Airways.
