We go to Puerto Rico in 3 weeks and I am looking at things to do. I am leaning towards Palmitos Park one day and a day out on the pirate ship another, anyone been on those? any other thoughts? not got a huge amount of money, so any cost-saving ideas gratefully received. I am excited!!!

we went there a few years ago and from what i remember there is a nice walkway round the cliffs to a little village nearby, its a nice walk and there is a lovely beach surrounded by little restuarants and cafes. We hired a car and drove all over the island, we went to a shopping centre and the capital where dh bumped the car going into an underground car park!!! of all places

We went last year and the dcs still talk about Palmitos Park today, especially the dolphin show.

Dcs were 5 and 7 then and we all loved it, worth going.

The bird of prey show is on top of a mountain, you need hats, drinks and lots of sunscreen.

A lot of walking, I would have hated to have a buggy with me, but it is doable.

Hth & have fun!

Just remembered something else.

The sand dunes are fab, absolutely go there for a day but if you plan to walk through the sand do it early in the morning or take trainers and socks.

We went in the afternoon, barefoot in sandals and the sand was so hot that I had to carry my dd all the way, she had burns on her feet.

Once we had managed to reach the seafront all was forgotten and we had an awesome time on the beach.

Hotel Orquidea in Bahia Feliz, the kids loved it, adults hated it.
Hotel was alright, but there was no escape from the non-stop family fun entertainment. Not for us grumpy snobs

Grin we tend to go off and do our own thing on holiday, dont think we've ever stayed in the hotel for entertainment etc.
