We are going camping next week to the North Norfolk coast and would like some suggestions for things to do in the Holt, Weybourne, Sheringham area.

Beautiful area, can't remember loads of actual things, but I believe there are lots of bike trails and horseriding. Kelling Heath is gorgeous and I do like Sheringham beach.

The steam railway is a nice way to get about and very interesting.

Here is a nice website www.experiencesheringham.com/where-to-visit.php?page_id=9

Went there two weeks ago. It was fun! Take the steam train between sheringham, weybourne and holt. We walked from weybourne beach back to sheringham - about 2 miles along the cliffs. Not much in holt except lots of boutique type shops but very pretty and lovely bakery! Had nice days out at wroxham barns and dinosaur land. We stayed in Cromer which has a nice pier, few shops , lifeboat station. HTH

Bewilder wood is worth a trip to. Hire a boat on the broads for a couple of hours.

EverybodysSleepyEyed · 01/06/2012 21:31

dinosaur land and bewilderwood were fab. DS loved all the different steam trains.

We would have liked to spend more time on the beaches but the weather was against us

If weather is kind, crabbing and muddying at Blakeney, nr Holt.

FashionEaster · 01/06/2012 21:44

Can also take a boat from Blakeney Point and go and see the seals

Rock pooling and an ice cream at West Runton. Lunch at Byfords at Holt. Walking in the the pine woods and on the beach at Holkham. Crabbing from the Pier at Cromer. Boat trip to see the seals at Blakeney.

Blickling and Felbrigg halls - both lovely national trust stately homes- a short drive inland. Holkham hall and beach beautiful too.
Good mix of shops in sheringham...

Wells-next-the-sea is grand. Bewilderwood is a must if you have kids, book online to avoid queues.

We love the sea life centre at Hunstanton plus all the other places mentioned above.

Thanks everyone - we took the steam train to Sheringham and went to the beach. We will dfinitely return so we do some of the other things then.....

The seal trips are fantastic - you get really close and see loads of seals.

However, for anyone making plans, take note that although there are prominent booking places along Blakeney Quay the majority of boats actually leave from Morston, the next village along.
