Any advice/top tips for a day out at Alton Towers?

We are going this Friday as there is an occasional day off school. We have never been before and wondered if anyone had any advice on which rides are good but have the longest queues etc. Ds is 7 but quite tall so should be ok on quite a few rides.

NO ADVICE SORRY BUT WE ARE GOING ON FRIDAY TOO! HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT TIME.X PS MY DD IS ALSO 7 AND LOVES THE RIDE 13.POSSIBLY GET A FAST TRACK FOR THE YOUNG ADVENTURE (£5) ALSO I THINK YOU HAVE TO BE 1.4M TO GO ON THE LARGER RIDES.MAYBE DOWNLOAD THE PARK MAP TO CHOOSE YOUR ROUTE? WE ARE STAYING AT THE HOTEL THURS NGT AND HAVE A 2 DAY PASS.

Now that you've been, do you have any advice? Dh is itching to go and even thinking of staying overnight to go for 2 days. What do you think?
