IOW is June 12th

I am fine about it this year

My DAD was born in Shanklin and had family over there

We went for holidays several times a year

DS has been there lots of times too

SO will be alot more relaxed

The kind teacher that went with them last year is NOT going though so that is sad

SO he has his class 6 teacher and she is not so kind and a bit of a dragon really

We went to see where children are staying last time we were over there

So we are sorted as far as that is concerned

I am still going there though

Anyway how are you feeling?????

How is DD????????

How did I miss this?
Glad to see that you are relaxed about this one. Is DS excited?
DD is really excited; she is practically counting the days. She came home from school today having spoken to some of the ones that went last year and said "it's really hot there Mum and they speak English and eat the same food as us!". Hmmm...maybe a gepgraphy lesson required. Now ask her about tectonic plate movements causing the formation of the Himalayas and she could give you a power-point presentation!

Me..well I am okay about it. I still have a panicky feeling about the journey and occasionally look up places on IOW but am trying to resist. I may get more wobbly as the time approaches.

She really likes one of the teachers who is going but is less keen on the others. Also neither of her two closest friends are going and a girl she loathes is. I really hope they don't get to share as it will make her miserable (she has tried with this girl but they couldn't be less alike).

Thanks for replying (wasn't sure whether to post but I guessed you might have been going!).

DS hasn't really mentioned it

THe topic of convers is all about secondary transfer

What part of the country are you in ie where do they travel from?

One of the mums whose DS wasn't chosen last year is very nervous

We wish the class 6 teacher wasn't going and the class 5 one was

Some of the class 5 boys are rather wild so I hope they are not all going

We are in Herts. I thought they went from Portsmouth but we haven't had the details yet so I might be wrong. I have seen the place they are staying at (considered going there last year as they had a very cheap offer on - might even look at it for Easter thinking about it). What is the staff:pupil ratio? I think some parents went with ours last year - less keen on that tbh.

RTKangaMummy · 20/02/2006 23:34

When we go over there we go from Southampton as the ferry trip ois longer and so more fun

Also it is straight down M3

Gulp! A LONGER ferry trip is better?

RTKangaMummy · 20/02/2006 23:35

no parents are allowed to go on ours

Not sure they were parents of the children who went. I think they were just available (may be CAs or playground attendants).

RTKangaMummy · 20/02/2006 23:37

I think it may be 1:10

Actually just thought about those boys loose on the ferry for 45 mins eeeeeeeeeeek

They have locked one of the gates to the school and these boys in the class below {year 5} climb oer the fence or climb through the gate

A right handful they are

DS at least is used to the ferry and knows the rules and his Dyspraxia means he will not disobey the rules so he will be ok

Priobably a good thing the class 6 teacher is a dragon
