Driving to dordorgne and want to stop over in Paris

We are visiting FIL in Dordogne and we are driving with 6 and 2yr old! I quite fancy a stop off in Paris for one night to show dc the Eiffel tower and break up journey a bit. Dh says fine but wants to stop on outskirts and get train in. Any tips on hotels or areas?

Definitely don't drive into Paris it would be horrendous. We stayed here for 3 nights with our kids recently and took the train in....www.parisriverside.fr/en/ It was a lovely place to stay.

You could stay at Hotel de Banville, which is just off the périphérique (so hardly any driving in Paris) and has a garage. And then use public transport. Ask for special rates - the Banville often has them.

Thanks for tips. Dh has gone off idea as thinks a stop off with two little ones. An 8hr car journey may be too much as well!
