Hi

We have booked flights to Ibiza for last 10 days of August, now looking for resort recommendations - travelling with Dh and 2 DC, aged 5 and 2.5.

We went to Portinatx last year which was great, and I'm trying to resist booking there straight away again in case there is somewhere nicer I don't know about.

Obviously don't want the clubbing areas of San Antonio, but somewhere picturesque with nice sandy beaches for the kids, not too much "chips and egg"/ Brits abroad. Was wondering about Cala Llonga or Puerto de San Miguel.

Any ideas welcomed, thanks.

Santa Eulalia
Lovely safe beach
Big long promenade for walks
Lots of yummy restaurants

Cala Llonga is nice, quiet
San Miguel similar,
Cala Tariida is lovely,

Myangels, have you booked anywhere yet?

Went to san Miguel last year and absolutely loved it! Lovely chilled beach in a little bay. Beautiful. Only time we've ever wanted to return to the same resort. But found a better deal for Santa Eulalia so we're going there in a week.

From the sounds of it, it's v similar anyway. Have a lovely trip :)

We went to Playa d'en Bossa a couple of years ago, and we're going back this year. Beautiful long sandy beach, all the hotels are right on the beach - not even a road to cross! There is one nightclub, Space, but we found it to be a very family friendly resort. There's a great waterpark there too.

Hi

In the end we booked for Portinatx again - just a different hotel, right on the beach, but many thanks for the suggestions. We are hoping to hire a car this holiday to check out other resorts, because I can see us going to Ibiza regularly (we used to go to Greece (which I love and miss), but it got expensive and the smaller islands are harder to get to from Bristol airport.

Where did you stay in San Miguel, Sunny?

I hope everyone has a good holiday in Ibiza this year!

x

We head off to portinax every year...last time we hired a car and just explored the whole island. There are some lovely little beaches on the main road out of portinax, try those they are lovely but take drinks etc as no bars/cafe type places. Also, Es Cana is nice, try the Market on a Wednesday. Kids will love it. We love Ibiza for it's child friendly atmosphere. Grin

Pelvicflooragogo- what date do u go?

Pelvicflooragogo · 15/08/2012 20:25

Hiya Lukat we are going October half term - we've looked into the hotel and they don't have any interconnecting rooms left and I'm definitely not sharing with my DC (aged 4 and 2)! We were thinking of SC probably and I'm wondering about Portinatz vs Santa Eulalia vs Playa d'en Bossa. Open to ideas 'though.

Lukat · 15/08/2012 23:09

There are sc in portinax, google them. They are all gorgeous places but sadly I cannot remember the names of them but I will try and look for you, the others are lovely but playa is busy..... It depends what your after but with little ones portinax is perfect. Shallow sea and gorgeous place. Es Cana is good for little ones.

Es Puet blanc apartments....

Lukat · 15/08/2012 23:18

Granada apartments. There us another hotel which had been recently refurbished it's called the el Greco... Not sure what reviews are like but it's a gorgeous hotel.... Another favourite with families. We fly out on 22 sept.... It's late for us so I hope they still have some sunshine left!!!
