Booking seat for a toddler

I want to book a seat for my 18 month old for a long haul flight do I need to ring the airline or can I book online?

You can usually book on line, there will be an option to add the age of the child or infant, and usually the next box will give you options of ''own seat'' or ''seat on lap''. Just beware that you will need to hold your child on your lap for take off and landing secured with an extension seatbelt. This applies to all children under 2.
