We can easily get to Waterloo and Clapham Junction. I quite fancy the seaside, but not Brighton, since we have friends there we will be seeing soon anyway. Open to any suggestions, as long as 'it', whatever 'it' is, is near the station.

Portsmouth - Dockyard is close to the station and Gunwharf Keys outlet shopping with restaurants waterside. Chessington World of Adventures or Legoland in Windsor (there is a bus to the park iirc)

Had thought about Portsmouth...although I lived there for several years as a child, DD hasn't been there that she'll remember. Will do some research :)

Have Merlin passes so have done all the Chessington etc stuff, and have a car, but just fancy a day out where someone else is 'driving'! My eldest is going to see Coldplay at Emirates with DP and I want to do something nice with the younger one.

Hastings? THe Old Town is lovely, it's got funicular lifts, a funfair on the pier, nice places to eat and George Street is full of funky little clothes and jewellery shops.
