Flying with pushchair + carrycot

We are hoping to fly to Italy when DS is about 4 months old.

We can take a completely folding pushchair and a car seat on the plane in addition to our bags - however we have a BJCM with the carrycot attached, which I really want to use as DS is a preemie, so I want him to still be lying completely flat (BJCM only reclines to 150 degrees?) and would rather he is facing us.

Has anyone had any experience of taking a carrycot in addition to the pushchair? Would it have to be checked in as additional item of baggage? I'm guessing it can't go on as part of the pushchair becaus it doesn't fold flat Grin

Wrap the carrycot in two layers of black binliner and wrap in tape and then just check in with your luggage. the airline should be ok with this, we travel alot and always do this with prams, carseats and carrycots etc and they have always been fine. ensure you write your name and flt details on the tape you seal it with.
