Summer Camp?

Hi all, I am hoping that you can help!! Myself and DH are celebrating a significant anniversary this Summer and would like to take a holiday sans the 3 kids. Two DD (12 and 15) and one DS (17) are left without parents for two weeks. DS is insisting that he could stay at home or with friends but I am nervous about leaving him.
I could send the girls on Summer camp, they attended one in the UK a few years back and loved it but ideally I would like to know that all three are occupied and none of them seem keen on spending two weeks with Gran in Nottingham Wink

Has anyone any recommendations? Or reassuring stories of leaving a 17 year old at home alone!?

Thanks in advance!

If you trust him, I can't see any reason why you couldn't leave a 17 yo alone at home. Have you spoken to him about it? After all in less than a year's time he might be off to Uni (or work, or whatever). He's basically an adult.

We left our DD17 for a week at Easter this year and last year and she was fine. We prepared some back up from GPs but this fell through due to illness so she was mostly home alone. The week was a mix of friends staying over, visiting friends and being home alone. My main concern was her being lonely and I think a week was long enough. She looked positively pleased to see us when we returned though she would never admit it!
If you do decide on leaving him for two weeks perhaps you could structure the time so he had a few nights with Gran or a few nights fixed with guests staying or at a festival or something else he might like.
My main concern would be them feeling a bit lonely rather than any trust or capability issues.
