Family of 4. Two children aged 8 and 10.
Husband prefers the more upmarket places.
TIA.

I've heared the Forte Village is very nice. Quite pricey in school holidays.

Also someone recommended the Chia laguna which also looks great.

Delphina have a range of hotel/resorts in Northern Sardinia - we stayed at Cala di Falco on our honeymoon. Some of the others look lovely.....

Great - will look that up too. Thank you.

We stayed at the Chia Laguna. Certainly upmarket and expensive, but not as much as the Forte Village, apparently the Forte Village is full of bling Russians whereas Chia Laguna attracts more of a family crowd. Chia laguna has a train bus to the beach, family rooms - either 2 joined rooms or a split level thing, and nice half board. I'd love to go back but suspect we would find it too hot in the summer holidays now DS is at school.

I'd recommend ringing up Just Sardinia if you get the right person then they can be very helpful.

Can recommend the Marinedda Thalasso and Spa. Been 7 times but sadly can't afford it this year :(

The cheapest way of booking it I have found is with Thomson.

We stayed at Cala di Volpe - was fab! The bar was used for a James Bond movie. www.caladivolpe.com If you like high end it's great - apparently where Diana's boat was mooewd shortly before she died. There's another Coasta Smerelda resort Tom Cruise goes to allegedly- Pritizzi or similar??

goingmadinthecountry · 07/05/2012 22:59

pritizza

Am looking at Cala di Volpe (although not the prices yet) - looks gorgeous but I wonder if children are welcome there?

It looks gorgeous but where your children should be seen and not heared. Grin

Snowstorm · 10/05/2012 11:47

Does, doesn't it ... hmmm ... that's not going to work (and I suspect that the prices are eyewatering in any case).

We were very lucky to have my Italian inlaws lend us their apartment in Puntaldia, near San Teodoro a couple of years ago. It was absolutely stunning with a private beach etc. Terribly upmarket, mostly Italians arriving in their own yachts!
