Worthing - nice pubs & restaurant/bistros?

Travelling to Worthing beginning of next week on business & looking for somewhere half decent to eat & have a few drinks. Doesn't have to be trendy or fancy just nice atmosphere, decent food & not too expensive. Staying on Marine Parade so near to there if possible, is it pretty small anyway so walking most places could be easy enough?
TIA

Does no-one live there, nearby, or is it too awful.

I live in Brighton but have family there. Will ask and report back - but like you say, it's all walkable. HTH

Thanks, was beginning to think there was something I didn't know about the place. . Actually not going for another couple of weeks now anyway so it might be a bit less chilly for walking by the sea.

i dont go in any pubs in worthing -i get pissed in goring - so i can walk home and spend more money on beer .mmmmm..beer.

worthing has the usual yates and stuff, its not very terrible at all.

or you could get on the train ( 10 min walk) get off 3 stops down ( durrington) call in the golden lion. if its a saturday night - chances are i will whoop yer arse at pool. can't get better than that
