Ear defenders & flight tips!?

Are ear defenders necessary? Baby will be 5 months when we fly, only to Dublin from London...any tips for me? Bought some just in case he's sensitive or scared!! X

I've never seen a baby use them on a flight. tbh I think they'd be more of an issue than the plane ! They won't stop his ears havin to adjust to pressure which is the main problem, try feeding as you ascend and descend so he swallows.

Yeah I've never seen anyone use them either but I'm a first time mum so still a bit panicky ha! Good advise,thank you!
