We are off to Costa Dorada for a week soon with our 11 and 13yo. 11yo not good on BIG rides.

I have spent this evening reading up but basically would like someone who has been to tell me all I need to know. Can anyone help me with the following please:

We are going end of May - will crowds be an issue?
1 day or 2 day ticket?

Anything we MUST NOT miss?
Do we need a plan for our visit (like you do at Disney)?
We have done Florida - will it still be good or will we find it a bit meh?
Where can we get a good deal on tickets?

And in general please just tell me anything useful I ought to know before we go.

Smile thank you

Been twice. Neither time found it especially crowded. All the rides have a single rider queue which means if yo don't min being split up you migh no have to queue at all.

It's big, but not big enough or long enough queues to need two day pass. However this depends on whether yo are just doing rides or chilling and show watching etc.

It's my favourite theme park outside of Disney, and in some ways better because of less crowds.

We have been several times.

As star says it is never that busy. In peak times it stays open to midnight and gets quite empty. There is a laser or firework display at closing time which is worth waiting for.

We buy a weekly pass from the port aventura website, so that we can pop in and out as we please.

I don't think you need to plan.

It is the preferred theme park of my family due to lack of crowds and some good rides. It isn't as in your face as Disney.

We got our (week) tickets from AttractionTix as we went in August when it was busy (and hot!) so we could pop in after 4pm when we felt like it as we were staying on a campsite 10 minutes away. We didn't do the waterpark as would have fried in that heat, but it looked amazing.

I would suggest 2 days so you can go back and re-do your favourites or go on those you missed, but one full day plus a re-visit should be plenty.

We loved the big rides, but there is a lot of other stuff plus shows.
